Oil Paint on linen which is stretched on wood.

The piece is about energy, life's forces and how creation is birthed from the synergy and interaction of energy, much as with life, how we create from the exchange of experiences, stories and community, all thanks to the basic blocks of energy.

4. Anna Dickinson, Swell

Acrylic on canvas.

Swell draws inspiration from the organic rhythm of tree rings—symbols of time, growth, and resilience. Through fluid forms and luminous color, the piece reflects both the natural cycles of the forest and the evolving seasons of motherhood. Like the rings within a tree, Swell captures expansion, memory, and the quiet beauty of continual growth.

As a traveler passing through the land of time, the views you see along the way, the pictures you may take on route, will always remain a memory. Those memories may change, gain new textures and different colors, but they are locked in a place to which you can’t return quite yet. This train can only move in one direction, forward, and you have to complete the route in order for you to come home.

6. Andromeda Calkins, Eye See You

Acrylic paints and paint pens on canvas.

"Eye See You” is a reflection of Y2K imagery and personal growth. Inspired by old skating brands I idolized as a child, this piece is a love letter to the fashion and images that inspired me. From faded checker board patterns to leather platforms, we express passing of time through the clothes we wear and the items we adorn our lives with. Eyeballs have been an image present in my notes, doodles, classwork, my whole life so replacing a head with one just felt natural in my progression as an artist.

7. Liam Baldwin, The Chariot

Letterpress on cotton paper.

This print is part of a series based on the classic tarot cards illustrated by Pamela Coleman Smith in the early 1900’s. The Chariot card represents willpower, determination and victory. The wings symbolize freedom and rising above. The star, like the North Star, provides direction and guidance while the square helps The Chariot stay grounded.

8. Julie Kinu Egresitz, Rain In The Window

Acrylic, screen printing, and embroidery on canvas. â€‹

This work began as a graphite drawing of a child opening a window, letting the rain fall into an empty room. "Rain in the window" uses screen printing techniques and embroidery to mimic the movement and obscurity of rain. Exploring the relationship between the natural elements and the man-made space, this piece has physical layers: a cloud looms over a transparent tree outside of a blurred room. The rain penetrates every layer--all are visible to some degree. This is a depiction of the ways in which the rain, the earth, the walls, and the people live together in harmony and discordance.

11. Visibly Hidden, GodSpeed

Screenshot 2025-10-23 at 10.11.59 PM.png

This piece began as a study from 2023. Had this one tucked away at the studio. Reworked and rebalanced to bring new life to the original composition. Inspired by the calligraphic spirals often found in West Coast art and graffiti, “GODSPEED” combines hieroglyphic markings and layers to explore movement, growth, and depth.

Focusing on creating a sense of lift off, like the hearts in the center are floating forward. Each stacked layer represents a stage in the artist’s chaotic journey. Moving away from the messiness as the message gets clearer.

“New levels, new devils.”

Its through the journey… pockets of love, peace, triumphs and excitement can be found. Ultimately, the work speaks to perseverance and the belief that LOVE always prevails through it all. No matter what.

14. Ron Stokes, Eli (The Ascent)

Acrylic and spray enamel on canvas.

A moment suspended between earth and sky. This piece is a reflection on balance — the space between structure and surrender. The man in the grey suit floats quietly above it all, caught between the demands of the business world and the freedom found in creativity. For me, Eli represents that constant climb — learning to rise without losing yourself, to find stillness even when everything below feels loud. It’s not about escaping the world, but seeing it from a higher peace.

As I gathered ideas for "Forward Motion", I knew I wanted it to be one of my fairies moving forward into the wind. I frequently draw fairies, they are tied to nature, child-like freedom, and Spring. When looking through images for reference ideas, the Rolls-Royce hood ornament, speed ice skaters, and ballerinas kept surfacing. I learned the Rolls hood ornament symbolized freedom of thought, exploration, and movement. I knew that was the one. When looking for a name for my fairies I like to look at Celtic or Irish names. "Ostara" symbolizes rebirth, balance, and new beginnings-like Spring. So that's how she came to be, with the symbols of Spring and movement.

Awash in a sea of darkness, this stream of stripes billows through a never-ending ebb & flow of finding its anchor. An open cord, undone, unbound, unconnected--and whether it's reaching or recoiling, the ripples are reverent to behold. The tying of this tether is what keeps me moving forward.

19. Ramsey, Camille

Screenshot 2025-10-24 at 11.40.47 AM.png

Named after the renowned female artist CAMILLE BILLOPS, the “happy little elephant,” is created with new and scrap metal, re-sourced from a local metal supplier.  She was a commissioned sculpture for a local residence, but unfortunately (but mostly fortunately) she was rejected because the colors weren’t what they thought it was going to be.”

“So now, she lives with the artist, gets to tour Richmond on the back of a trailer and brings some light to a world that’s increasingly becoming dark!”

“Hopefully, for just a few moments, she’ll inspire a little joy in the people who choose to look up and see something… different.”
